And so the off-white couch adventure begins ~ Abida
⊱ཞ🖤 I’m finally getting my white pinterest-bound couch!! ཞ⊰
I love that I have finally committed to re-upholstering my couch… yep! My friends and family are probably rolling their eyes as they read this, because I have had this conversation with them uh, only about 1000000,00009000989787879 times in the past several years! I made this moodboard ↓↓ ↓↓last week and it gives snapshots of the feel I’m aiming for.

I have walked down the isle with that decision…. I went out and got the upholstery fabric… I settled on an off-white linen … about that, I have recently come to the conclusion that God has given me one child because:
a) He knew I could only handle the laundry of one child… side note about laundry: it is a battle I never win … just when I sit back feeling snug and accomplished, I remember every one of my family members has several items of clothing which will wind up in the hamper!
b) He wanted me to devote a good chunk of my sanity towards keeping my soon to be off-white linen couch just that… off white and not brown or whatever shade of stew we happen to be having for dinner … so yes I feel that this is my calling for the next chapter of my life … I suspect… No! No! I KNOW family meals around the kitchen counter will be a thing in the near future … so who cares if keeping that couch off-white will have my sanity hanging on a thread? IT WILL BE SOLEY RESPONSIBLE FOR FAMILY MEALTIMES AT THE TABLE!! and that’s worth the trade off right??… Why do I feel like I’m talking myself off the ledge?!
P.S: I am also looking forward to all the stress owning an off-white linen couch comes along with, because stress=weight loss WIN!
SHIT (forgive the profanity) I just remembered I’m a stress eater 🙆🏾♀️🙆🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️. Please excuse me as I go into a profanity rant, tear my clothes and cover myself in ashes and sack cloth!
Anyway the ball and chain that is me and the 45 m ↑↑ ↑↑ of off-white linen fabric currently sitting in m pantry have no way to go except
down forward into Pinterest worthy off white couch dystopia utopia!

⊱ཞ🖤 My wedding e-vite card!! ཞ⊰
Speaking of balls and chains, I have just recalled my wedding invitation cards! My shnookums and I are pretty laid back, so our wedding – two years ago was the very epitome of the anti-multigazillion dollars wedding industry… we went to the Attorney Generals, were married, had a photoshoot with the extremely awesome and accommodating Ben, had a barbecue with all of our 20 guests, and danced the night away. Our costs for the wedding were almost comically low!
One of the first things we did is get e-invites from punchbowl (one of the free templates no less!! but which fit so perfectly with what we envisioned our day being). We wanted a rustic affair so the cardboard -y look and the chalk effect of this card just spoke to me. I would love to hear from you if a post about my wedding and how I planned it is something you’d be interested in… do let me know in the comments below!!!

⊱ཞ🖤 Cute & cheeky birthday cake candles ཞ⊰
not so little sister (in-law) asked me to make some cupcakes for her boyfriends (but it’s just yesterday when she was the cutest tiniest wittle baby doll! So how am I now baking cupcakes for her boyfriend?! After I spotted my first grey hair earlier this year, I thought the universe would hold off or at least slow down with the existential angst inducing moments!) She will probably kill me for including her in this post … I love you T! Where was I … uh! yes! so she asked me to make him cupcakes, and I came across these ↑↑ ↑↑candles that I just had to get for the cupcakes!!!

⊱ཞ🖤 My first grey hair ཞ⊰
I discovered it earlier this year and I literally did a backflip … for the first time since I exited mothers womb! I was so excited (disregard the existential angst mumbo jumbo above!). I recall cleaning my hands, staring into the mirror and spotting my first grey strand! I called my shnookums, my friends and the Communication Authority of Kenya in quick succession to break the news about the grey hair milestone! and then I undid my 100 week old twists (waaaait … maybe this is the universes way of getting me to clean my hair!) just so I could marvel at my first grey strand! I had been toying around with the idea of possibly re-colouring my hair but once I spotted (what hopefully is a sign of wisdom that I’m about to come into … much like an inheritance one may come into!!) I shelved all thoughts of colouring my hair indefinitely, because I want to bask in the glory of ageing!
